Bank effective in-court management

December 2002 - Going to court to recover part of granted credits is rather an uncontrollable reality for the financial entities and companies granting loans. The World Bank invites the consulting company AIS to give a seminar on Risk Management

AIS at Emballage 2002

November 2002 - AIS will attend the Emballage 2002 trade fair which focuses on the packaging industry and which will take place at the Paris Nord Villepinte exhibitions park in France from the 18th until the 22nd November.
Fabienne Perreux, the AIS Area Manager for France, will be present during the entire event in booth 6K 111 with the company Volume Soft. Ms. Perreux will be showing WinBox®, the automatic scheduling system for the production of corrugated boxes. WinBox® allows to adopt the best plan of production, providing an automatic integral programming of the main components in the production line. AIS opens branch in Chile

October 2002 - AIS is on the verge of inaugurating an office in Santiago de Chile. The objective of the consultancy company is to harness the insertion of the company in Latin America. AIS installs Consumer Loans Scoring in Mercedes Benz

September 2002 - Mercedes Benz Credit is in process of installing AIS Consumer Loans Scoring. After having implemented the Scoring PyPES system to evaluate operations to finance the purchase of company vehicles, the finance house of the Mercedes group, has bought the specialized AIS solution to approve, deny or re-study loans to individuals for the acquisition of cars. This way, AIS takes one more step in the automobile industry.
In addition to the development of the credit scoring system, Mercedes has contracted a 3 years follow-up. During this period, AIS will review the data of the generated portfolio and, if necessary, will introduce modifications in the system, as to fit the entity credit policy perfectly.
The project manager, David Fernandez, estimates that the installation will completed by the end of 2002.

Bankoa renews its confidence in AIS

September 2002 - The Basque organization Bankoa has decided to install AIS scoring system to evaluate its mortgage loans. The entity thus shows again its confidence in AIS. Bankoa has been a part of AIS' clients portfolio since1996, when they implanted the Personal Loans Scoring system to decide the concession or refusal of their consumer credit operations. Publications demand planning for editors

July 2002 - Spanish Logistic Centre (CEL) organizes next July 25th a seminar on "Demand planning in the publishing sector". Banrural assigns its comprehensive risk management project to AIS

June 2002 - The Mexican bank Banco Nacional de Crédito Rural (Banrural) has selected the Spanish consultancy AIS (Aplicaciones de Inteligencia Artificial, S.A.) to carry out a project to provide a comprehensive risk administration solution for the Banrural system. The financial institution directed by José Antonio Meade announced its decision on June 13, with AIS thus beating off competition from two major international consultancies that had also presented tenders. AIS Scorings at Banco Guipuzcoano

June 2002 - Banco Guipuzcoano will evaluate from this year on its mortgage loans and credit cards through AIS reactive scorings. The Basque financial entity has decided to implant these systems to grant or refuse credit cards and mortgages to its retail clients automatically. The bank directed by J.L. Arrieta Barrenechea has been using AIS consumer loans scoring as from 1993, which will be updated.
In addition to these reactive scorings, Banco Guipuzcoano has also acquired Pro-active Scoring, a system which classifies retail clients according to their risk level and assigns the acceptable risk limits for the different products of the bank's portfolio.
The installation of all these solutions will be completed in 12 months.

AIS at Expopack 2002

June 2002 - From June 25th - 28th, AIS will be at Expopack, a trade fair dedicated to the packaging and corrugating world. The event will take place in Mexico DF. AIS will be in stand 2030 showing Winbox, its optimisation and scheduling automatic system for the corrugated board boxes manufacturing process. Expopack is one of the main trade fairs of the sector in Latin America. This year the exhibition space will cover over by 24,000 m2 of the Expo Santa Fe building. The organizers forecast to surpass the 28.500 visitors Expopack last edition.

AIS obtains mention FIBIT to the international projection

May 2002 - AIS has been awarded by the Barcelona Computer Science Faculty (FIB) with a FIBIT mention to the international projection. The FIBIT or IT Awards have been created with the intention of honouring people or organizations with an outstanding development evolution within the world of computer science. The mention went to Ramon Trias, president and general manager of AIS, during a gala dinner that took place at Barcelona's Estación de Francia last Thursday May 16th.
This act was part of the FestiBITy, an initiative of the FIB and its association of former students, Cercle FIBER, to congregate once a year IT companies, professionals and the university community.

AIS gains the auction process of Banrural

May 2002 - The Mexican Banco Nacional de Crédito Rural (Banrural) has chosen AIS to carry out the project that they have called "Banrural's Risk Integral Administration System Solution". AIS has thus prevailed the other two well-known consultants who had applied the auction.

Banrural is a development bank, like NAFIN, entity with which AIS works since 2000. Its objective is to support the farming activities in Mexico. The organization's reform and modernization project consists of several parts:

• Credit risk. That it includes qualification systems, credit evaluation systems, expected loss calculation, risk management platform and portfolio risk credit administration (VaR calculation motor entirely developed by AIS)
• Administration of the market risk
• Administration of the liquidity risk
• Diagnosis of the operative risk
• Integration of the risk
• Requirements of capitalization

The signature of the agreement will take place in about 20 days.

February 2002 - AIS will attend Corrugated new edition, one of most important trade fairs in the world for the corrugated box board sector. GE Capital Bank buys AIS' consumer loans scoring

February 2002 - AIS has reached an agreement with financial GE Capital Bank to implant its scoring for consumer loans. GE Capital Bank is the General Electric group finance company in Spain, the biggest industrial holding in the world by stock-exchange capitalization.
GE Capital has acquired the AIS’ automatic evaluation system to apply it to a new business line. Traditionally, GE Capital Bank, operating in Spain for almost 40 years, has been dedicated to the financing of the purchases of cars. Now, GE Capital is going to use AIS scoring for promotional campaigns in all sectors, not only in the automobile industry. That means, it will try to obtain clients for revolving, non-finalists, direct sale credits. The implantation of the system in GE Capital has already begun. It is foreseen that the process will take about 8 to 12 months.

1st Credit Risk Congress (Colombia)

January 2002 - Professor Ramon Trias, AIS’ president and CEO, will take part next February 14th at the 1st Credit Risk Congress organised by the Colombian Bank Association. About 200 executives from several banks of that Latin-American country will attend the act. Professor Trias will talk about Credit Risk Measurement Models and Methodology.

Professor Trias has a Degree on Economical Studies at Barcelona University. He is an expert on risk control and management, having worked on it since AIS creation 15 years ago.

The 1st Credit Risk Congress will take place at the Hilton Hotel in Cartagena de Indias on February 14th and 15th.
